Privacy Policy

Veliy ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Veliy iOS application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with your use of the App.

By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Our Core Privacy Commitment

Veliy is built on a simple principle: your relationship data never leaves your phone.

• All AI analysis runs on your device using a built-in on-device model
• No chat screenshots, conversation text, or analysis results are uploaded to any server
• We do not operate a cloud backend that stores your conversations
• We do not track you across other apps or websites

This is not a feature we added. It is the foundation of the product.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

Account Information. When you sign in with Apple, we may receive:

• Your Apple user identifier (a stable, randomized string assigned by Apple)
• Your email address (only if you choose to share it with us)
• Your name (only on first sign-in, if you choose to share it)

This information is stored locally on your device using Apple's Keychain and your device's secure storage. It is not transmitted to or stored on our servers.

Relationship Data. The App processes the following data entirely on your device:

• Chat screenshots you select for analysis
• Text you enter as supplementary context
• Relationship DNA test responses
• Weekly Reflection inputs (mood, connection level, notes)
• Generated analysis results and AI insights
• Profile information you create about people you analyze

None of this data is uploaded to any server. It remains in your device's local storage until you delete it.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

We do not collect:

• Location data
• Device identifiers for tracking
• Browsing history
• Usage analytics
• Crash reports sent to us

We do not use:

• Third-party analytics SDKs (no Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or similar)
• Advertising SDKs
• Tracking frameworks (no ATT tracking, no IDFA collection)

2.3 Model Downloads

When you first use the App, it downloads an AI model file (~2.5 GB) from public model repositories (HuggingFace or ModelScope). This download:

• Is initiated by you
• Contains only the pre-trained AI model — no user data
• Does not transmit any personal information to these services

After the initial download, the App can perform all analysis without an internet connection.

3. How We Use Information

3.1 On-Device Processing

All information you provide is used exclusively on your device to:

• Authenticate your account (Sign in with Apple)
• Generate AI-powered relationship analysis
• Create and store your Relationship DNA profile
• Draft and refine Weekly Reflections
• Maintain conversation profiles and history
• Manage your subscription state (via Apple's StoreKit)

3.2 Account Management

Your Apple user identifier and email (if provided) are used solely to:

• Maintain your sign-in session
• Enable multi-account data isolation on shared devices
• Send you service-related communications if you contact us

We do not use your email for marketing unless you explicitly opt in.

4. How Information Is Shared

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties.

Specifically:

• Your chat screenshots are never transmitted off your device
• Your analysis results are never transmitted off your device
• Your email is not shared with any third party
• We do not permit third-party advertising networks to access your data

4.1 Service Providers

The App uses the following third-party services, which operate under their own privacy policies:

• Apple Inc. — Sign in with Apple, In-App Purchases (StoreKit 2). Apple's privacy policy applies to these services. We do not receive your Apple ID password or payment information.
• Google AI Edge (LiteRT-LM) — Provides the on-device AI inference framework. The SDK operates entirely on your device and does not transmit data to Google.
• HuggingFace / ModelScope — Public repositories from which the AI model is downloaded. No user data is sent to these services.

4.2 Legal Disclosures

We will only disclose information if required to do so by law or legal process. However, because we do not possess your relationship data (it lives only on your device), we cannot disclose what we do not have.

5. Data Storage and Security

5.1 On-Device Storage

All relationship data is stored in your device's local storage:

• Keychain — Your Apple user identifier (encrypted by iOS)
• App Storage — Chat screenshots (as image files), analysis results, DNA profile, reflections, usage counts (stored in UserDefaults and the App's container)

5.2 Multi-Account Isolation

If multiple users share a device, each user's data is isolated by their Apple user identifier. When you sign out, your data remains on the device under your namespace but is not visible to other users. When you sign back in, your data is restored.

5.3 Security Measures

• Sign in with Apple uses Apple's secure authentication framework
• Your Apple user identifier is stored in iOS Keychain (encrypted)
• The App does not transmit data over the network during analysis
• No backend server stores your conversations

5.4 Data Retention

Your data is retained on your device until:

• You delete it within the App (Settings → Clear All Data)
• You delete the App from your device
• You erase your device

We cannot delete data from your device remotely. Because we do not have your data, there is no server-side retention to manage.

6. Your Privacy Rights

6.1 Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

• Access. You can view all your data within the App at any time.
• Deletion. You can delete all your data at any time via Settings → Clear All Data, or by deleting the App.
• Data Portability. Because your data is stored on your device, you control it directly.
• Withdraw Consent. You can sign out of the App at any time. Your data remains on your device but is not accessible until you sign back in.

6.2 California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you have the right to:

• Know what personal information is collected about you
• Know whether your personal information is sold or disclosed
• Opt out of the sale of your personal information
• Access your personal information
• Request deletion of your personal information

We do not sell your personal information. Because all relationship data is stored on your device, you can exercise your access and deletion rights directly within the App.

6.3 European Privacy Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Rectify inaccurate data
• Erase your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
• Restrict or object to processing
• Data portability

6.4 Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by other means. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the Policy was last revised.
